Biography:-

Aileen Adamson is a contemporary Aboriginal artist from the APY (Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara) lands in the far north of South Australia.

Born in 1976 in Amata, she is connected to the community of Fregon (Kaltjiti) and speaks the Pitjantjatjara language.

Her work is primarily around the Piltati Tjukurpa motif (the Watersnake Dreaming or the story of the giant water snakes/Wanampi), a sacred ancestral narrative passed down by her grandmother.

Her canvases are characterized by vibrant colours, meticulous dot painting work, and organic motifs representing waterholes, underground watercourses, and desert landscapes.

She is a rising figure in Central Desert art, exhibited both in Australia and internationally.
