Biography:

Tristan Bird was born in Utopia, Northern Territory, Australia.  He is an Anmatyerre Man whose art is deeply connected to his cultural heritage and family lineage.  His Dreamings include Men's Ceremony and Mulga Seeds & Berries, which hold strong spiritual and cultural significance within it's community.

Tristan is the Son of Paddy and Eileen Bird and his Grandmother was the renowned artist Ada Bird Petyarre.

Working in the traditional dot painting style, Tristan incorporates symbols to share stories that have been passed down through generations.  His paintings reflect a continuation of cultural knowledge honouring the teachings of his ancestors while ensuring that these traditions are preserved for his children and grandchildren.  Through his art Tristan maintains a living connection to his Dreamings and the Country of Utopia, strengthening the cultural identity of his community and celebrating the enduring power of Anmatyerre storytelling.
